Sorry I need to vent ............
I have now been waiting four weeks for the phone call to say my Humira injections are on their way. I have the funding from previously trying Enbrel and failing. It seems that someone in Pharmacy at my local hospital is not doing their job. I have now made four phone calls. I am desperate and can feel my health deteriorating by the hour. I spoke to a Rheumy nurse this morning and she was going to march down to the Pharmacy to see what is going on and said she would phone me back. This was four hours ago.
I know people are busy and overstretched but when you explain that you have not slept for nights because you are in so much pain, people just tut tut and say never mind we will sort it but they don't.
I work full time and I need to keep moving. I also work as an Admin Manager and it is very frustrating when people are not doing their job and I have no control.
Vent over ...............
Jackie

I get annoyed with such things too Jackie, In this day and age where communication can be almost instant to almost anywhere in the world, why is it that things can still take so long or in some cases even longer than they used to. I hope you get this sorted soon, as your health should be a priority. Best wishes Jo. 2012 Fundraising for the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS) http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/RoboJo

Morning Jackie
Did the pharmacy department get things sorted yesterday?, absolutely terrible. These people seem to forget they are dealing with people lives and have no idea of the suffering, your not waiting for a Argos delivery !!
Take care , Julia xx

Hello
Thanks for your replies. I finally had a phone call late Friday afternoon. It appears someone did not pass on the paperwork and after much jumping up and down (I wish) by myself this has now happened. It has now been faxed through to the Humira home delivery service and I should receive a call on Monday. If I do not I have been advised to chase ............. somehow I can feel more phone calls coming on. My anger has now disolved and I am at the very tired stage. My RA is getting me down and I know that the Humria could really help. I am just going to have to be patient for a few more days.
Jackie xx

Hi Jackie,
Hope your Humira comes soon and makes a big difference for you. There cant be anything worse than being held up due to the negligence of others. Take care Lorna x

Hi Jackie,
When I was on Humira, I found Healthcare at Home to be very efficient. Now that they have your prescription you shouldn't have any more trouble.
Hope it all goes well for you!

Dear all
Thanks for your kind replies.
Still waiting for the Humira. I have not been in work for the last two days as now completely siezing up. Went to the doctors and he has given me a short course of steriods to tide me over. It was the last thing I wanted to take as my weight is completely out of hand and I am at the heaviest I have ever been. I pulled out a few summer skirts last night and most of them do not fit so I cried.
I have chased and chased the Humira but they say they are only just getting the paperwork through and it may take a while longer before I hear anything. I would not mind but I already had all the funding in place when I took Enbrel and it should have been a simple case of moving me over to another regime. I tried to explain that I am trying to hold down a full time job but everybody just says "I know" but they really don't. I have to keep on working as I am the only wage earner and it looks as if Mr Cameron is going to cause a lot of problems for the genuinely ill people who are claiming disability allowance etc as we all know that the people carrying out the medicals have no idea the implications of diseases such as RA.
I will keep on going in the hope that someone will do their job correctly in the next few days/weeks.
Jackie xx
